Did you know that under cover of the pandemic, One Central’s Wisconsin developer is quietly collaborating with major contractor Clayco, to build One Central’s base platform, part of the project’s much ballyhooed “transit hub” that’s to be subsidized by our tax dollars?
Did you know that on Clayco’s Webex call it leaked a confidential deal with Dunn, and also admitted Clayco is joint venturing with AECOM, the same company that wrote One Central’s “economic study” for the Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce. That same study was used to lobby Madigan for BILLIONS in taxpayer subsidies for One Central’s transit hub?
Did you know that One Central’s Bob Dunn and Landmark Development are NOT waiting for public comment or even a development application to decide what structures to build, but already have blueprints and are now pricing One Central’s base platform, key to the transit hub and entire project?
The absence of a formal application is confirmed by City officials.
Did you know that One Central lobbied for BILLIONS in tax dollar subsidies with this graphic claiming One Central’s transit hub will increase ridership to 45 million passengers a year?
Source: Bob Dunn’s One Central presentation to Madigan – not disclosed to any of us.
Did you know that AECOM’s “economic study” and the presentation to our legislators failed to disclose that just one block from One Central’s proposed Metra transit hub, current ridership totals just 53 people per day?
From 53 people a day to 45,000,000 a year? There is no independent support for such conjecture.
Crain’s published this on June 18, 2019: “The transit case for One Central has not been made.”
Did you know that One Central’s Wisconsin developer, Bob Dunn, has a history of hiding his plan details?
Dunn told us “No TIFF money.” But Dunn deliberately left out he sought BILLIONS in subsidies from the State of Illinois.
Dunn said he needed immediate state legislation to support his attempt to get federal railroad funding but over a year later he hasn’t filed for that funding.
Crains published this May 21, 2019, days before Dunn successfully lobbied Madigan for Billions in taxpayer subsidies for One Central:
“[I]n an interview in which he disclosed new details of his $20 billion [One Central] plan for the first time, Landmark Development’s Bob Dunn declined to make public key financial projections behind his bid…. The language of Dunn’s legislation has not yet been disclosed.”
Do you oppose giving a Wisconsin developer billions of your tax dollars for something no one needs or asked for, and that exceeds legally set density restrictions, especially when the money was directed behind the backs of our own representatives?
– Sens. Mattie Hunter and Robert Peters, and Reps. Kam Buckner and Lamont Robinson?
